Last week, Flyte brought their latest tour to Glasgow‘s very own St Lukes, a fitting venue for their celestial sound. The Between You and Me Tour commenced in Brighton just 2 weeks earlier, following the release of the band’s latest album of the same title. The duo, Nick Hill and Will Taylor, evoke a sense of melodic nostalgia in their music, drawing inspiration from iconic artists like Nick Drake, The Beatles, and Lou Reed. It’s no surprise that they have become a source of inspiration for many emerging musicians.

The opening acts, Blackaby and Elanor Moss both joined the Flyte on stage for the duration of their performance, showing Flyte’s reach for a collaborative effort when performing, creating a welcoming atmosphere not just for the people onstage but the crowd of fans too.

The band also invited two local Scottish artists to join them throughout their performance. First up was Glaswegian singer-songwriter, Katie Gregson-Macleod who graced the stage to perform ‘I’m Not Therewith the duo, a track from their latest album. Later in the set Rachel Sermani joined the band, singing Laura Marling’s part of their collaborative song Tough Love, a single from Flytes third studio album This Is Really Going To Hurt. They then came out together on the approach to the encore, performing ‘Speech Bubble’.

Flyte’s well renowned cover of Alvvays hit song ‘Archie, Marry Me’, which was recorded for their debut album The Loved Ones, was sang in transcending acapella alongside two of their band members, Roy Lowe and William Blackaby.
