Upcoming Scottish flavoured Irish band Cliffords have this week released their brand new single, Bittersweet. Their first release on new label Soil To The Sun, Clifford’s are set for a thrilling 2025, including a Spring headline tour and festival summer to boot.

Last year the young Cork band took the initiative to self-fund and independently release their debut EP, However, with their latest project, Bittersweet, they have collaborated with producer Richie Kennedy at Battery Studios in London, setting their ambitions well beyond the limits of their hometown.

Led by Iona (Scotland) born Iona Lynch, Cliffords create a sound that blends melody-rich, guitar-driven elements of shoegaze and grunge, presenting a grand and cinematic experience. Iona’s vocals are raw and powerful, soaring above the intimate venues that Cliffords are destined to fill in the coming year. Speaking about new release Bittersweet, Iona shares:

“Bittersweet is a more abstract look at nostalgia and our last few years of living in Cork. The first few lines of the song “the city begged look up” comes from something my grandad always said to me, “look up or you’ll miss half the beauty of the city.” “Bittersweet reflects the mixed emotions of us as a band finding our way in music and in ourselves as young adults. The lyrics poke fun at heartbreaks and how dramatic and potent those feelings felt at the time.”

The band are set for live performances throughout the Spring and into the Summer
