EDINBURGH’S SUMMER SESSIONS ARE ‘HOT TO GO’ IN 2025 RETURN
Next month, Edinburgh’s Royal Highland Showground will be transformed once again as the capitals official Summer Sessions host. Trumping 2024’s epic line-up which featured Catfish and the Bottlemen and Ocean Colour Scene, 2025 welcomes two of the biggest stars in the world right now. Having first hosted Summer Sessions back in 2018, Edinburgh has proven itself as the ideal setting for Summer show.
THE LINE UP
This year, Edinburgh’s Royal Highland Showgrounds will welcome Geordie rock royalty, Sam Fender on August 22nd before making space for pop icon Chappell Roan for not one, but two, sold out performances 26th and 27th August.

GETTING HERE
Whilst Edinburgh Highland Showground is located out with the main city centre vicinity, there are many different options available to concert goers.
Bus: Lothian Buses run a dedicated city centre shuttle service to and from the venue. Citylink also operate several services that stop along the A8; within a few minutes’ walk of the venue.
Tram: Trams will run every 7-10 minutes to bring you to the event. Trams will run back to the City Centre every 10 minutes after the event.
The nearest Tram Station to the Royal Highland Showgrounds is Ingliston Park & Ride, approximately a 10 – 15 minute walk to/from the venue.
A free Tram shuttle bus will run between Ingliston Park & Ride and the event site throughout the event. This journey takes 5-10 minutes.
Train: Nearest train stations are Edinburgh Waverley and Haymarket but you will require additional transport to make it to the venue.
Car: There will be customer parking available close to the venue, tickets must be purchased in advance. Parking costs £15 + booking fee and can be purchased HERE.

ID / AGE RESTRICTIONS
Edinburgh’s Summer Sessions are strictly 12 years and over. All under 16’s MUST be accompanied by an adult aged 21 years and over. A ratio of 1 adult to 4 under 16’s is required.
Attendees bringing anybody under 16 are being advised to register your contact details in advance via our guardianship procedure form HERE. Guardianship wristbands will be issued at our Welfare Area inside the arena. This will help us reunite you in the unlikely event you become separated.
ID checks will be in order so please bring a valid and current photographic ID with you.
The following types of ID are accepted:
- UK or International Full or Provisional Driving Licence
- UK or International Passport
- National Proof of Age Standards Scheme card with the PASS hologram (e.g. Young Scot, CitizenCard, My ID Card)
- Must have a PASS hologram on it.
- The PASS hologram must not be faded, damaged or tampered with.
CASHLESS
The entire site will again be completely cashless so please have an alternative card/contactless method available.

- Bags and rucksacks bigger than 30cm x 42cm (A3 size)
- Glass (including perfume bottles)
- Metal/Hard Plastic bottles
- Food and Drink (even if unopened)
- Drugs
- Flares
- Chairs
- Professional Camera Equipment
