KEO TAKE OVER MANCHESTER’S PROJEKTS SKATEPARK FOR NEW MUSIC VIDEO

Today, Keo share the official video for ‘Pistol’, capturing a surprise pop-up show at Projekts Skatepark in Manchester. Announced to fans with little warning, more than 400 people packed into the city’s skatepark as the band transformed the space into an intimate live performance, documenting the kind of fan-first moments that have become synonymous with Keo’s rise.

Directed by Caitlin Ricaud alongside creative direction by Hermione Sylvester and filmed amongst the ramps, concrete bowls and the crowd itself, the video blurs the line between live performance and documentary, placing fans at the centre of the experience. Rather than a conventional music video, it offers a snapshot of the connection Keo have built through relentless touring and word-of-mouth, capturing the energy that’s seen them outgrow venues at an extraordinary pace over the past year.

Originally released earlier this month, ‘Pistol’ is the towering second single from the band’s forthcoming debut album, Put A Smile On For Me, arriving 25th September via Island Records. Built around soaring guitars and climactic dynamics, it explores the strange persistence of memory; how people, relationships and experiences continue shaping us long after they’ve disappeared.

Speaking about their new single, frontman Finn Keogh comments,

“I had the imagery of dead stars stuck in my head when writing ‘Pistol’. The idea of something having died years ago but only now seeing its light. I think that imagery can be just as real with people.”

The song’s title itself emerged almost by accident. Originally taken from a lyric that never made the final version, Finn couldn’t bring himself to let it go. More importantly, when drummer Oli Spackman plays the opening fill, it sounds exactly like a pistol firing, an instinctive moment that became inseparable from the song’s identity.

The release of ‘Pistol’ also follows the announcement of Keo’s biggest UK headline tour to date, seeing the band step into significantly larger venues across the country this autumn. The response was immediate, with more than 9,000 tickets sold and the full run selling out in under 24 hours, underlining the extraordinary momentum Keo have built.
