After 15 years without release, Pendulum returned to Bristol’s Prospect Building, replaying fan favourites and showcasing newer hits. With the incredible sister duo of Alt Blk Era in support, it was sure to be a night to remember for Bristolians.
Alt Blk Era are a two-piece duo consisting of two sisters – both of whom are vocalists. They’re fairly new to the scene, having only started during that dreaded time of COVID, uploading covers to YouTube. Their first song was only released in 2022, with their debut album launched at the start of the year, but they’ve grown massively over that time, having performed at major UK festivals such as Download, Reading and Leeds and Glastonbury!
Soon came time for Pendulum, an Australian fusion of metal and drum and bass – which on first glance may seem a little bit left-field, but they’ve made it work since the release of ‘Hold Your Colour’ in 2005. Hits such as ‘Propane Nightmares’ and their incredible remix of The Prodigy’s ‘Voodoo People’ went down incredibly well with the bouncing crowd, but as did all of the newer material. ‘Save The Cat’ was met hilariously with at least three-thousand-in-sync “Meow!”‘s from the crowd, pits opened during ‘Guiding Lights‘ ,and ‘Cartagena’ was beautifully received. Pendulum’s arena-level production also should be noted, with massive rotating light fixtures on stage, and multiple massive LED screens not only behind the band, but also overhead and on fixtures surrounding the stage. It’s definitely a performance not to be missed on their remaining tour dates, especially alongside Alt Blk Era, which can be found here!
