‘RAINBOWS’ – DEAD PONY RELEASE LATEST SINGLE ON THE BACK OF THE BLACKOUT TOUR
THE GLASGOW BAND ARE SET TO RELEASE THEIR DEBUT ALBUM NEXT MONTH
RAINBOWS is a song about loving yourself. Growing up as a teenager, I always felt like a bit of an outcast and I never felt comfortable in my own skin. It’s only as I’ve gotten older, I’ve realised that being true to yourself is the most beautiful thing that you can be and that you don’t need to fit the mould to be worthy of loving who you are.
Anna Shields -DEAD PONY
This song is for 13 year old Anna and all of the other people out there who haven’t yet realised that their differences are beautiful. Just remember, no matter how bleak things may seem, Rainbows always come and things always get better.”
Following a massive support slot tour with Welsh post-hardcore outfit The Blackout, Glasgow Nu-Rock quartet Dead Pony have unveiled their latest release from their forthcoming debut album; ‘Rainbows’. A song about learning to embrace the person you are – flaws and all – and gazing the beauty that projects, with rainbows being the ultimate metaphor for the shine after the storm. With the melodic charm of singer Anna (Shields) mighty vocals blended with their trademarked gutteral guitar sound, Dead Pony have struck an impeccable balance between sweet and spicy.
Co-written and produced by guitarist Blair Crichton, ‘Rainbows’ is the fifth single release from the bands debut album ‘Ignore Us’ set for release April 5th. Written, recorded and produced exclusively by Dead Pony last year, Blair explains “As a band, we’ve experienced an awful lot of being ignored. We really don’t like that. So we set about making a debut LP so good that people had to pay attention. It’s a record that literally dares people to ‘Ignore THIS…“
Having already played the main stage at Scotland’s biggest music festival, TRNSMT last year, 2024 is set to be even bigger. With line-up appearances at the likes of Y-NOT, Kendal Calling and Reading & Leeds Festivals, it will be increasingly hard to ignore Dead Pony this year. Having just came off an epic sold out tour with The Blackout, the band are preparing to join friends Kid Kapichi on their ‘There Goes The Neighbourhood‘ tour across the UK starting at the end of this month. Moving into April, the Glasgow quartet will be celebrating the album release day on home turf when Kid Kapichi play their only Scottish tour date at Glasgow’s Garage. Having solidified themselves as a force within the local scene, Dead Pony have cultivated their live show to a polished industry approval, converting fresh eyes across wherever they go.
