ROBBIE WILLIAMS AND LUCY SPRAGGAN TEAM UP FOR ‘SOBER’ COLLABORATION

LUCY PREPARES FOR UK TOUR DATES NEXT WEEK

Lucy Spraggan has released a very special new version of her song Sober, on which she has collaborated with pop icon and superstar Robbie Williams, out now on all digital platforms. Download / stream here and watch the lyric video here.

The beautiful, emotive track premiered earlier today on Scott Mills’ BBC Radio 2 show and is about Lucy’s journey giving up alcohol and now as she comes up to 5 years sober, she has chosen to re-release it with one of her biggest inspirations. Robbie mentored on The X Factor the year she auditioned but they never got to meet, so it’s a perfect full circle moment for Lucy.

Speaking of the song, Lucy comments: “I wrote Sober about a week after I stopped drinking. I wanted to write a song that I could listen back to, whether that was in a month, six months or years, to remind me why I had made the decision to be sober. I never anticipated that nearly 5 years after I’d be releasing it as a duet with an all round inspiration of mine, both personally and professionally, Robbie Williams. This song and it’s music video was originally released in 2021 and the comments on Youtube are from a community of people that resonate with the lyrics about why I needed to be sober. To know that Robbie Williams resonates with the song enough to sing it with me is an unbelievable feeling, not only as a song-writer but as a person that has struggled with substance abuse. This really is the highlight of my career so far and I am so thankful for all of the places that my sobriety has taken me”.

Robbie Williams is one of the most loved and successful British artists of the last few decades. The iconic superstaradded: “I’ve been a fan of Lucy’s since I first heard her on X Factor in 2013. That year I mentored on the show, but sadly we never got to meet. I loved ‘Sober’ the first time I heard it, and I’ve really enjoyed working with Lucy on this new version of the song.”

Lucy has an exciting 2024 planned. She has recently finished supporting James Blunt across the UK where she received a fantastic response at every show. She is also gearing up for her biggest headline tour to date, kicking off in Glasgow on May 14th, with a show at the O2 Kentish Town Forum in London on May 23rd. Remaining tickets are on sale here. Later this Summer she gets married and then plays at some of the UK’s biggest festivals including Glastonbury, with new music coming throughout.

Lucy Spraggan was the first contestant in X Factor history to score a Top 40 single and album before the live shows aired. Since her appearance on X Factor, she has sold over 140k albums and reached over 150 million streams on Spotify alone with over 555k monthly listeners. She is proudly an independent artist, in control of her career and has released 7 studio albums. Last year saw Lucy release her memoir Process, an instant Sunday Times bestseller that entered the chart at #2. The book saw her reflect on her life till now, opening up about some of the biggest and most raw moments she’s experienced and detailing her journey from childhood to X Factor to finding her balance in her 30’s.
