ROCK AM RING: Germany’s Massive Rock and Metal Festival Returns for 2025

Over the years, the infamous Nürburgring has been a staple of motor racing. Hosting some incredible grand prix races as well as 24 hour racing, yet every year it hosts one of the biggest alternative music festivals in the entirety of Europe. And, no different for 2025 – for Rock AM RING comes back for it’s absolutely stacked 3 – day lineup.

The festival runs alongside Rock im Park – based in the Zeppelinfield in Nuremberg, but both lineups are usually the same, minus one or two bands! Among this year’s headliners include English alternative pioneers Bring Me The Horizon, metal legends Slipknot, and the incredibly seductive Sleep Token. Also on the lineup are Canadian hard – hitters Spritbox, Bristol born Idles, Mexican sisters The Warning and Scottish rock icons Biffy Clyro.

Not To Miss Artists

Although the lineup is one of the most incredible in Europe this year, there are definitely some artists you shouldn’t miss if you’re attending!

On the Friday are House Of Protection – formed from Fever333‘s former guitarist and drummer, and have recently released ‘Brain Dead‘, a single with Architects from their most recent album. They’re also making waves of their own, fusing electronica, punk and hardcore, to create their own unique sound.

Also on the Friday is Poppy – most well known for her song ‘Suffocate’ with Knocked Loose, but is also insane in her own ways. Her latest album, ‘Negative Spaces‘ was released in November last year, and broke into the top 100 in some of the biggest UK and US charts, coming 10th in the UK Rock & Metal Albums as well as an incredible 4th in the US Heatseekers Albums chart.

On the Saturday are Future Palace – who Charlie Rolfe (Lead Singer of As Everything Unfolds) stated as the “European version of them” in an interview with us last year! Their latest album, ‘Distortion‘ peaked within the top 40 in German charts, with every song being hit after hit. Lead singer Maria Lessing’s vocals are similar to Charlie’s from As Everything Unfolds – being incredible not only in the cleaner vocals but also the screams you’d expect from a metalcore band.

Saturday also hosts the Kris Barras Band – formed by former MMA fighter Kris Barras (who’d have guessed!). The Devon – based band have been a hit on Kerrang! Radio, including supporting their recent UK tour. They’ve previously toured with some incredible names, such as Black Stone Cherry and GUN, and Kris himself has been previously voted 13th in the Best Blues Guitarists in the World by Music Radar – alongside true legends such as John Mayer.

While She Sleeps (Ollie Hayman/Northern Exposure)

Sunday holds one incredible band that everyone should see live. Thrown are a Swedish hardcore punk and metalcore band, but with a twist, so to speak. Nowadays it’s rare for songs to be less than 3 or 4 minutes long, but this band seem to flip the narrative, with it being rare for their songs to be more than 2 or 3 minutes long. This has by far been a huge success for them, after recently coming off of a UK tour with While She Sleeps, only to announce a headline UK tour playing in some of the same venues as them!

Rock am Ring is sold out for 2025, however Rock im Park tickets are still available here!
