Rock Legends Reunite: Stereophonics Ready To Dazzle Sheffield Arena This Sunday

With the bite of December in full force in South Yorkshire, the Utilita Arena Sheffield is preparing for a shockwave of Welsh rock goodness. On Sunday, December 7, 2025, Stereophonics, the legendary band led with their hard-hitting vocals by the legendary Kelly Jones, will deliver their dynamic Winter Arena Tour with a bang in the Steel City, concluding their year of successful comebacks with a must-not-miss show of their iconic anthems, passion, and energy. I attended their gig in Paris this year, and they were absolutely brilliant.

Straight off the back of a monumental summer of arena-hugging shows, which attracted more than half a million fans across the UK and Europe, Stereophonics are clearly on top of the world. And their comeback so far in 2025 has been nothing short of explosive, thanks in no small part to the launch of their thirteenth studio record, Make ‘Em Laugh, Make ‘Em Cry, Make ‘Em Wait, which was released on April 25 through EMI, securing their ninth successive UK Number One. This blisteringly intense, eight-track beast featuring such standouts as the dark, foreboding single ‘There’s Always Gonna Be Something’ as well as more introspectively driven tracks such as ‘Seems Like You Don’t Know Me’ and ‘Mary Is A Singer’ represents something of a sonic shift in the renowned Welsh outfit’s canon: firmly established as a force that brings together crashingly heavy riffs with rich, telling storytelling, but this time with a necessary, grown-up, arena-rock attitude.

Sheffield will be a highlight of their December blitz, visiting major arenas from Nottingham’s Motorpoint Arena on the 4th through London’s O2 on the 18th. Be ready for a set list that celebrates three decades of hits like “Dakota”, “Have a Nice Day”, “Maybe Tomorrow” alongside showcasing the intensity of their new record, promising “to make ‘em laugh, make ‘em cry, make ‘em wait” just a little bit longer for that next euphoric rush. Joining them for the night will be up-and-coming indie band, Finn Forster, whose soulful tunes will warm up the audience from approximately 6:30pm, with the headlining artists probably taking the stage at approximately 8:30pm. (Please note that their December show in other cities were sold out months ago, but a second allotment was released in November. You may check for availability if still on the hunt.)

With nods of approval from the likes of Bob Dylan, Stereophonics have always been a band that defy genre, with their nine number one albums proving their timeless, if visceral, heritage. But for fans in Sheffield, this isn’t merely a concert, this is homecoming, with a hearty shout from a city that’s seen its fair share of industrial-strength anthems.

Do your doors open at 6 PM? Grab your scarves, steel yourself, and let the ‘Phonics remind you that live rock music still rocks. See you in the mosh.
