American singer-songwriter Sadie Jean has just taken on the UK and Europe as part of her ‘Early Twenties Torture’ tour. Celebrating the release of her debut album, Sadie has been delighting fans with live performances of the new tracks, along with some fan favourites from earlier in her career. All of her music is like a walk through girlhood, the ups and downs and everything in-between.

Beginning the show with “I Tried“, Sadie set the tone for the night with her incredible voice and resonant lyrics. Like a big sister, Sadie guided the crowd through the set, with songs about the whole ‘friends to lovers’ trope, relationships and her best friends. Before playing “Know You Forever” Sadie, alongside guitarist Andrew, taught fans a dance to do during the chorus of the song – which everyone loved doing with their friends as she sang.

From letting fans choose a song through the use of a fortune teller, to crashing out and hitting the drums with everything she had, Sadie’s concert epitomised the meaning of girlhood and the different ‘canon events’ we all experience – it was practically impossible not to resonate with her music in some way. As the show came to a close, Sadie took time to thank fans and reflect on the fun she has had on the tour so far, telling the crowd how she hopes to see them again at Manchester shows for years to come.
