NEW ALBUM ‘BEHOLDER’ WILL DROP MARCH 2024

Feeling like a punch to the stomach; painful yet breathtaking – The Blinders return with their second single off of their forthcoming album Beholder.

Dark with emotion and heavy with depth, Always seems to encapsulate desperation, confusion, frustration and lust perfectly into the neatness of one simplistic package. The simplicity of the track almost paves the way for Haywood’s lyricism to shine through the murkiness of the gloomy instrumentation – scaffolded by the simple yet impactful backbone of the bassline and drums. Arguably, the strength within the simplicity of the instrumentation within Always makes it the great song that it is.

The track feels like a confession – private whilst almost wanting to be heard. As a listener you almost feel like you’re intruding on two people at their most vulnerable – a quality few songwriters can master and pull-off to this level. Whilst unapologetically eerie – there is a tone of warmth in the song, a universal relatability created surrounding this feeling of nakedness and resentment. Haywood touches on emotions we all feel yet struggle to physicalize the way he does – he perfectly vocalises these feelings with the backing of the emotional intensity he so effortlessly brings to both performance and lyricism.

Always feels like the final hand of a poker game being slammed down – the final cards laid on the table. There is nothing left to ambiguity anymore, everything is exposed and on show – naked with nowhere to hide.

It remains undeniable that The Blinders never fail to bring ferocity, atmosphere and excessive intensity to everything they create together.

With their 3rd studio album Beholder set to be released on the 1st March 2024, The Blinders prepare to take on another UK tour – showcasing the new material fans have been deprived from for so long.
