THE SUBWAYS CELEBRATE 20 YEARS WITH ‘WHEN I’M WITH YOU,’ OUT OCTOBER 17TH, ‘THE SUBWAYS FOR ETERNITY’ UK AND EUROPEAN TOUR ALSO ANNOUNCED!

The Subways are marking their 20th anniversary in style with a brand-new retrospective album, When I’m With You, which will be released on October 17th. The collection revisits the band’s defining moments, featuring fan favourites from their breakthrough debut, ‘Young for Eternity,’ to their latest record, Uncertain Joys, alongside two brand-new songs.
The trio, Billy Lunn, Charlotte Cooper and new drummer Camille Phillips, have spent the past two decades carving out a name as one of Britain’s most dynamic live bands. Their journey has seen them rack up over 1000 gigs across 40+ countries, performing alongside giants like Oasis, Foo Fighters and AC/DC. Now, with their UK and European headline tour, The Subways for Eternity, the band are gearing up to celebrate its legacy with fans across the continent.
The tracklist captures the spirit of a Subways live set, kicking off with ‘Oh Yeah” and running through early classics like ‘I Want to Hear What You Have Got to Say’ and ‘Kalifornia’, mid-career anthems such as ‘We Don’t Need Money to Have a Good Time’ and ‘Kiss Kiss Bang Bang’, and recent highlights from ‘Uncertain Joys’, including ‘You Kill My Cool’. The album closes with ‘Rock & Roll Queen’, a track that became a cultural phenomenon thanks to appearances in RocknRolla, The OC and a major Rimmel campaign starring Kate Moss.
Alongside the hits, ‘When I’m With You’ introduces two brand-new songs, ‘I Need to Feel You Closer,’ first previewed during last year’s live shows, and Passenger’s Side. These new additions mark the recording debut of Camille Phillips, who joined in 2023 following the departure of original drummer Josh Morgan.
Reflecting on their 20-year journey, Billy Lunn said,
“Reaching 20 years is special because it means we’ve been doing what we love for such a long time. But the true joy comes from the friends we’ve made along the way. Seeing faces old and new in the crowds at shows is everything to us. We’d be nothing without our fans, and we can’t wait to celebrate this milestone with them properly in the mosh pit.”
Charlotte Cooper added,
“We’ve been on this wild ride for 20 years, and I’ve loved looking back at everything we’ve done from sweaty club gigs to huge festival stages. Seeing the world, creating albums we’re proud of, and making lasting friendships. We’re so excited to celebrate with the fans who have supported us for all these years.”
The album features work with renowned producers Butch Vig, Stephen Street and Ian Broudie, with tracks from Uncertain Joys and The Subways produced by Billy Lunn himself. Broudie reflected,
“It was a great pleasure to work with The Subways on their debut album, Young for Eternity. They were a unique young band with great songs and energy, and I’m proud of the album we made together.”
When I’m With You is available to pre-order now on double vinyl, CD, and digital formats. Fans who pre-order get early access to The Subways for Eternity tour tickets. The pre-sale opens April 8 at 9am, with the general sale following on April 10 at 9am.
