“UNADULTERATED GRUNGE BLISS” TOO MANY TEMPLES NEW SINGLE ‘MOTHER SAID’ HITS ALL THE RIGHT SPOTS

SINGLE REVIEW | TOO MANY TEMPLES – MOTHER SAID by Anne Kelly

Rating: 5 out of 5.

I should admit that I’m often inundated with new music releases. So many that I don’t even know what to do with anymore, however, when ‘Mother Said’ by Too Many Temples hit my inbox, I knew something special was brewing. So much so that I awoke one morning with it’s haunting riff running free in my head, it demanded another listen.

“I don’t know if I wanna feel this good, it always feels much better than it should.

A contender for sexiest song of the year too, Too Many Temples ‘Mother Said’ guides you on a captivating and intense exploration of desire, bliss and sorrow, culminating in a dramatic climax that you will want to indulge in over and over again.

Starting off life as a full band epic, Too Many Temples have successfully managed to strip back and slow things down, exposing a raw vulnerability in it’s wake. Guitarist Tom says, “It made us all a bit nervous… but it’s made the song feel like a haunting romantic tragedy”. The song begins with an ominous guitar riff that gradually builds to a haunting thrill, immediately capturing the listeners attention with its intense delivery. Meanwhile, lyrically it transports you to another level with it’s sinful narrative of raw attraction and singer Ranj captures this intensity with his painstakingly tender vocals adding to the already thrilling ambience. The track progresses and ultimately draws to an end but the impact it leaves only highlights the band’s unique talent and setting them apart as something extraordinary.

A discordant, ambient pleasure, ‘Mother Said’ is as sombre as it is erotically charged, leaving unadulterated grunge bliss in it’s ashes, leaving you begging for more.
