King Tut’s Summer Nights on the 23rd of July was a night filled with amazingly strong women, and amazingly strong vocals.

Wytchwound opened the night with an incredibly powerful set. I’m really obsessed with their storytelling, with each song exploring the Fife witch trials. The drummer was really impressive, while the extremely powerful female lead vocals and her very distinct, powerful look made them impossible to ignore. They also gave us some facts about each song and what the women went through, comparing it to today’s women’s experiences. Overall, a great and even educational set!

Rufus Case Stone is a young band with huge potential—another band with a strong lead female singer and male musicians, blending rock with a funk twist. The lead singer had great stage presence and unbelievably powerful vocals, while the talented guitarist impressed with great pedal work and had fans yelling that they loved him.

The Suits were my personal favourite of the night. The lead singer has loads of character, and her high vocals were genuinely mesmerising. The guitarist delivered exceptional riffs, the band moved together as one, and they even played a brand-new song they had never performed before and absolutely smashed it!

Forfauna closed the night with a full female line-up, all five members dressed in white dresses with really sick make-up, and moss on their faces- giving complete witch brides vibes. Their use of effects on the mic was a brilliant added effect, creating a very heavy performance that was uncomfortable, but in a good way!
