NEWS | THE FRATELLIS, CAST, DOVES, HAPPY MONDAYS AND MORE SET FOR NEW CONCERT SERIES

Last month, Scruff of the Neck launched their brand new Blackpool Live series at Blackpool Winter Gardens with a stand out headline performance from Feeder. Supported by The Futureheads, A and Balancing Act, the show – which took place on 24th July – set the calibre of talent which will flock to the seaside town over the next few months.

Across seven nights and a combined 17,500 capacity, Winter Gardens will have welcomed 27 different acts by the time Happy Mondays bring the series to an end in November. But before that, there’s lots to come ,with The Fratellis next set to headline the winter garden stage on 21st August.

The Winter Gardens series celebrates everything that makes Blackpool one of Britain’s best destinations, with fans invited to make the most of their visit by exploring the seaside town. Visitors can take advantage of the best of Blackpool such as the Pleasure Beach, piers, amusements and Madame Tussauds.

Inspired by his own experience of an Arctic Monkeys concert in the town back in 2006, Blackpool Live founder Mark Lippmann shares:

People always ask what the best gig you’ve ever been to was, but when you think about it, you remember so much more than the band. You remember who you were with, what you did before the show and how the whole day felt. Blackpool is uniquely placed to create those experiences. You can jump on a train, spend the day by the sea and finish it watching incredible live music in one of Britain’s most iconic venues. That’s what Blackpool Live is really about.

Arriving before lunch, Lippman and his mates spent the afternoon on the rides at Pleasure Beach, wandered the seafront eating ice creams, played in the arcades, grabbed fish and chips and beers before heading to one Britain’s most iconic venues, Empress Blackpool before catching the last train home. 20 years down the line and another generation of music fans can experience that same Blackpool live magic.
