Each night of the tour, Lewis Capaldi has delivered the classics that made him famous and introduced new tracks that hint at the bright future of his music career. Staying true to himself by avoiding flashy stage or outfit elements, instead focusing on creating heartfelt connections and memories with fans.
Moments before the show began, the curtain rose and the band took the stage to start the first song. Soon after, Lewis Capaldi appeared before 23,500 cheering fans and opened with his latest number-one single, ‘Survive’. Starting with this emotive track, Lewis set the tone for the night with his transparency and raw lyricism. It’s practically impossible to hear this song live without feeling its emotional pull. As the crowd responds with heartfelt singing to this relatable pop ballad, the atmosphere is set from the first track. Next up came ‘Grace’ and ‘Heavenly Kind of State of Mind‘, two of his more upbeat tracks to get the crowd going, whilst still carrying his signature emotion.
As the show continued, Capaldi engaged with fans and shared a few words. In typical Capaldi style, humour was at the centre of his speeches. Providing a lighthearted break from the intense emotion of the set, Lewis made the night a true emotional rollercoaster. He highlighted the night as his first performance at Manchester’s Co-op Live. Calling it “a big ol’ room” before joking, “The Co-op, eh? Sandwiches… arenas.. funerals… so versatile!”

With the whole crowd laughing at his unique humour, Lewis continued his set, teasing his upcoming single ‘Almost‘ before launching into ‘Something in the Heavens‘, which had only been officially released two days prior. Throughout the extensive promotion of the new track, Capaldi has continued to foster meaningful moments and deep connections with his fans. A standout moment of the show was undoubtedly the confetti drop during ‘Something in the Heavens‘ – each piece printed with a different handwritten lyric. As the song played, fans could be seen singing, dancing, and eagerly catching the confetti to piece together the full lyrics.
‘Forget Me’ and ‘Pretender‘ continued to unite fans with their unique sentiment before Lewis took to the piano to perform another unreleased single, ‘The Day That I Die‘. Before performing the song, Lewis also took a moment to reflect upon the effect of the wristbands that had been handed out before the show – jokingly calling them a “complete Coldplay rip off”. Despite the jest of the comment, the wristbands certainly added that extra touch to the night and really are a sight to behold when you’re there. Allowing people to live in the moment without a phone flashlight, with each light representing a different person experiencing the show.
He then outlined his supposed last song ‘Before You Go‘, joking about the obviously missing songs from the set and alluding towards the encore. Capaldi’s second most-streamed song certainly was a hit with the crowd, leaving everyone on a high during the short intermission. It wasn’t long into the break before chants began to rise. “Ooh, Lewis Capaldi” gradually filled the arena as the crowd prepared to welcome him back to the stage for the final few songs.
Returning to the stage, Capaldi performed both ‘How I’m Feeling Now‘, previously proclaimed as the most personal song he has written, surrounding his journey in the music industry and his life as a whole. ‘Hold Me While You Wait‘ then preceded an emotional speech where Capaldi thanked the crowd for their attendance and support over the past 8 years of his music career. Stating: “I genuinely didn’t know if that when we came back here after taking time off, that people would wanna come and see us play”, Capaldi expressed his gratitude for fans’ loyalty and understanding, telling them “, I feel very lucky to get to do this and to be here“.
Before his final song, Lewis took a moment to reassure fans: “You’ll be seeing me again very f**king soon… and I don’t plan on taking any more breaks anytime soon either”. Mentioning his already announced tour next year, which is already sold out in many cities across the UK and hinting toward further music releases before the end of the year.
Closing the night with the chart-topping single, which established his career, “Someone You Loved” was the perfect way to close the set. A full circle moment for both Lewis and fans, with the roaring crowd reminiscent of past times before his break, where fans helped him finish singing the song at Glastonbury in 2023. The powerful engagement of the crowd is like no other, with a sentiment that evokes emotion in so many fans.
