“IF THIS TRACK DOESN’T SKYROCKET THE BAND TO THE HEIGHTS OF INDIE STARDOM, THEN I DON’T KNOW WHAT WILL” | ‘SUN KISS’ NEW SINGLE BY LOCK-IN

SINGLE REVIEW | LOCK-IN – SUN KISS By Keira Knox

For these boys, the sky is really the limit, and they will continue to solidify their reputation as “ones to watch” in 2024. On April 27, Lock-In sold out their largest London headline event to date at Lafayette and it’s safe to say that the guys are killing it right now. Their latest release ‘Sun Kiss‘ comes fresh off the back of an incredible set at Truck Festival on The Market Stage, being picked by the festival themselves to grace the stage.

One thing you can count on is Lock-In to release an unforgettable summertime anthem. Every summer, Lock–In keeps something special in store for you. This song perfectly captures the “feels of summer.” The song’s deliberate balancing act between musical drive and flowing guitar melodies makes it instantly memorable. This upbeat track perfectly embodies summertime, bringing back memories of carefree, long days spent in beer gardens, sun-drenched afternoons, and the thrill of music festivals.

The breezy, flowing guitar riffs that open this track belong in a coming of age soundtrack. Lock-In perfectly encapsulate the feeling of being young, out with friends and bathed in a golden sunlight. If this track doesn’t skyrocket the band to the heights of indie stardom, then I don’t know what will. Produced by Max Marlow, a platinum producer best known for working on Declan McKenna’s smash hit song ‘Brazil,’ ‘Sun Kiss’ is sure to become the next major summery hit. This melody carries a strong sense of nostalgia, taking listeners back to their own happy summertime memories.

An uplifting indie anthem, ‘Sun Kiss,’ embodies the spirit of a British summer and brings back memories of carefree, summer days enjoying what you love to do to relax and unwind. With its catchy melody and sentimental lyrics like “Do you wanna? Do you wanna get out? Sun Kiss baby, summertime we’re never in doubt.” ‘Sun Kiss’ is destined to serve as the summer’s signature track. A band to watch in the indie music scene, Lock-In will take both fans and newbies back to their best summertime memories.

Speaking on the track, lead singer Benjy Leak says,

“We wanted ‘Sun Kiss’ to be a musical time machine. It’s all about capturing that nostalgic feeling of summer, where every moment feels like it’s bathed in golden light, and every memory is wrapped in the warmth of good times with friends. We hope this song brings listeners back to their own sun-kissed memories.”
