PEDALO SWEEP FANS INTO DREAMSCAPE WITH IMPRESSIVE NEW EP ‘DELICATE THING’
EP REVIEW |PEDALO – DELICATE THING by Hannah Lindsay
The Glasgow based dream-pop band bring us a surreal delivery with 5 new tracks! Pedalo, consisting of Charlotte Stuart (vocals), Callum Geddes (keyboards/vocals), Calum Steel (guitar),Nick Eadie (bass), and Beth Mackenzie (drums), have quickly made their mark within the Scottish music scene since they formed in 2022.
Well known for their electric live performances at notable venues such as Sneaky Pete’s, Nice N Sleazy, and The Poetry Club, this EP rings true to their aesthetic and positions the listener into a groovy yet sincere dreamscape. Following their recognition from BBC Radio Scotland by securing “Single of the Week” in 2024, and a longlisted position for the inaugural Scottish Live Music Awards, their highly anticipated new EP Delicate Thing officially releases on 11 June 2026.
Recorded and produced by Jamie Holmes and mastered by Robin Sutherland, this EP leans deeper into dream-pop haze with sincerity. Each track holds true to the band’s overall musical aesthetic whilst still offering uniqueness.

To start, “Good girl”, rings tunes of an ode to a past self as the nostalgic lyrics are carried by the hum of synthetic keyboard keys. With deep guitar riffs to accompany the gentle but powerful vocals, this track could open up a stadium with lights waving in the stands.
Next, “Hate me” builds a strong atmosphere with a brilliant hold before the guitar solo comes flying in. Throughout the song, the guitar tones stay light, airy, and satisfyingly ethereal!
Get ready to move as “You might be right” brings the groove with punchy drums and a deep bass line. Dual vocals tie the tune together, complimenting each other tonally. The antiphonal vocals are supported by twangy background guitars, setting up the dreamscape and pulling you in to get lost in the magic.
The depth of the instrumentals throughout this EP is developed further with the methodical lyrics: “A reminder how you’ve grown / Knowing there’s nothing, nothing / You can feel on your own”, which lend to the subtle theme of nostalgia across the EP. Hours could be spent decoding and interpreting the lyrics in ‘Delicate Thing‘. The creative intent, raw emotion, and technical choices are laid bare so listeners can clearly conceive the tenderness and care invested into these songs.

The EP comes to a close with “Sweeter Pill” and “Picture It Backwards”. It can only be assumed intentional that “Sweeter Pill” is a short and sweet piece, only 45 seconds long, yet it is stuffed with meaning and impact. It’s limited duration allows the piece to make its dreamlike enterance which fades out softly, as if walking calmly into a forest.
“Picture It Backwards” ties in like a dream to the reflective tone of the EP, evoking images of carrying someone through your memories. The dramatic drums roll into slow rock riffs, giving a fluid nuance to the piece.
In its entirety, Delicate Thing holds so many facets – it is an undeniably impressive collection of works. The balance between the inclusion of familiar elements for existing fans and experimental tones to encourage new fans, pulls together an EP worth listening to over and over again! Pedalo have already made their mark, and clearly they’re hungry for more.
Delicate Thing is OUT NOW and you can catch them live at King Tuts on 13 June 2026! Tickets here.
