THE GUEST LIST SHARE ‘SOMETHING REAL’ AHEAD OF SPRING TOUR

TGL Lead (by Ewan Ogden)

Following a sold-out UK tour and the success of their debut EP When The Lights Are Out, Manchester five-piece The Guest List kick off 2026 with their new single, ‘Something Real.’ The track is a blistering critique of our “post-fact” world, tackling the commodification of truth in an age of AI, algorithms, and rage-bait media. Frontman Cai Alty says:

This is the song that best represents what we want to say and be. It’s about finding something meaningful in a world where trolls, comment bots, algorithms and whistleblowers dictate public understanding. Where suffering is normalised, and where our most hateful impulses are nurtured. We hope that people find this song as genuine as we do.”

The band is rapidly gaining elite-tier recognition, with Rolling Stone UK comparing their ambition to Humbug-era Arctic Monkeys and The Independent tipping them as the UK’s next major guitar band. Their rise has been powered by a formidable live reputation, including sets at Glastonbury and TRNSMT, as well as early support from BBC Radio 6 Music’s Chris Hawkins and Wet Leg’s Rhian Teasdale. While proud of their Manchester roots, the group is focused on a global sound that transcends local “tribal” associations.

With over 5 million Spotify streams and 6,000 tickets sold on their last tour, the band’s momentum is undeniable. After selling out venues like London’s Camden Assembly and Manchester’s New Century Hall, they return to the road this April for a further 14-date run. ‘Something Real’ serves as both a warning and a declaration, cementing The Guest List as a vital voice in the 2026 alternative scene.
