THE PROCLAIMERS, THE LUMINEERS AND MORE OPEN GLASGOW SUMMER SESSIONS AT FIRST EVER STATE FAYRE

The inaugural State Fayre hit Glasgow’s Bellahouston Park on Saturday, where American indie-rockers The Lumineers proved to be the perfect headliners for an all-day lineup celebrating the very best of Americana, country and folk music. With the likes of Dylan Gossett, KT Tunstall and The Saw Doctors amongst others on the bill, the penultimate set of the day came wrapped in wholesome patriotism with Scottish icons The Proclaimers. Turning the park into a massive sing-a-long the crowd even got a welcome appearance from the Glasgow sun, spreading pure joy across the park.
As the Scottish counterpart to the brand new massive three-day festival in Chelmsford, Essex, Glasgow’s State Fayre is part of the wider Summer Sessions concert series taking over Bellahouston Park all this week.
And the lineup is packed. Last night saw Alanis Morissette rock the stage alongside Wet Leg and Skunk Anansie. Tonight, Mr. Worldwide himself, Pitbull, plays his only Scottish date of the year with Lil Jon. On Friday, the rock vibes return with Kings of Leon, The Lathums, and The Royston Club, before My Chemical Romance officially paints Bellahouston Park black with Long Live The Black Parade.
