Scottish indie favourites The Snuts have announced an intimate, one-off hometown show at the Regal Theatre in Bathgate on 26th March, offering fans a rare chance to see the band up close where it all began.

In a unique twist, fans across West Lothian will be invited to enter a ticket ballot via QR codes displayed on specially designed outdoor posters which launched on Wednesday. After signing up, fans will be notified directly by the band with further details. Entry to the ballot costs £3, with each successful entry including a free download of ‘Motherlands‘ and all profits going to Music Broth, a Glasgow-based charity providing access to musical instruments and tuition for young people in some of Scotland’s most disadvantaged communities.

The initiative reflects the band’s commitment to giving back locally, supporting the next generation of musicians by helping remove financial barriers to music education and also shining a light on the number of live music venues currently facing the threat of closure

“’Motherlands’ is a track that explores the gravitational pull of home. It was written in the aftermath of a transitional period in my life between living in the city to moving home”, says frontman Jack Cochrane. “There’s something cathartic and healing about coming back to the place you grew up trying to escape from and motherlands details the warmer and brighter tones that exist inside the familiar.”

The announcement comes as The Snuts currently travel across the country with a run of intimate UK shows, with the Bathgate date standing out as a truly special homecoming moment.

There has been a great reaction to their anthemic new single ‘Summer Rain’, their first new music since 2024 and the opening chapter of an eagerly anticipated fourth album, due later this year via their own label, Happy Artist, in partnership with Virgin Music Group.

Written following a period of reconnecting with their West Lothian roots, ‘Summer Rain’ is the band’s most personal release to date. Frontman Jack Cochrane has spoken openly about the inspiration behind the track, which explores themes of postnatal depression, personal growth and navigating the realities of life beyond the “rock’n’roll circus.” Despite its emotional depth, the track builds toward a powerful, hopeful crescendo, signalling a bold new era for the band.

This one-off performance at Bathgate promises to be both a celebration of the band’s journey so far and a meaningful opportunity to support grassroots music initiatives at the heart of their community.
