One of the most incredible guitarists ever produced from the UK, ex Smith’s strummer Johnny Marr has been out on the road again lately. Taking to the generous stage of Liverpool’s Olympia Theatre last week, this rock’n’roll legend definitely still ‘has it’….whatever ‘it’ means.

Stockport’s most exciting new live act, The Rolling People made an appearance at Glasgow’s King Tuts Wah Wah Hut this month. The performance came just says ahead of the release of their latest single ‘Before It’s Gone’ which will also feature on their forthcoming EP by the same title.

The Rolling People will join The K’s on their biggest homecoming show yet at Manchester’s Victoria Warehouse on April 26th.

At just 25 years young, Declan McKenna has already released his 3rd studio album ‘What Happened To The Beach’. Out 9th February 2023, the album was met with strong reviews and reached No.3 in UK Official Album Charts upon its release. The talented artist has went on to almost completely sell out his extensive UK tour which included a welcoming Liverpool crowd at the city’s Mountford Hall.

THE LIBERTINES | LIVERPOOL JACARANDA | DYLAN COX 06/04

The first of two record store shows to promote the release of their fourth studio album ‘All Quiet on the Eastern Esplanade’, The Libertines took to Liverpool Jacaranda Records for an early afternoon matinee acoustic set. Taking the intimate opportunity to chat to fans with a Q&A session, the band appeared in good spirits towards the album release which would go on to achieve The Libertines first No.1 album in 20 years!

The second ‘in-store/out-store’ of the day for The Libertines took place at Manchester’s Club Academy. Despite running a little late on stage, fans were ecstatic to catch a glimpse of the notorious band in such an intimate setting. Playing an impressive set including classic Libertines tracks alongside new releases from AQOTEE.

PIERCE THE VEIL | MANCHESTER VICTORIA WAREHOUSE | BELLA PROUDFOOT 06/04

California-based post-hardcore band Pierce the Veil showed up and sold out Manchester’s
Victoria Warehouse on Saturday night. Preforming to a bustling crowd exuding adrenaline and emotional intensity, the lights dimmed while the audience erupt into cheers and the band took the stage amidst a cacophony of applause. With their trademark blend of raw emotion, gut wrenching lyricism and technical prowess, Pierce the Veil launched into a setlist that spanned their impressive career, playing a considerable amount of beloved classics; ‘A Match into Water’, ‘Caraphenelia‘ and ‘Bulletproof Love‘ from their early years to tracks from their latest, US no.1 chart topping album, The Jaws of Life.

Red Rum Club played a night to remember with the biggest headline date of their entire career so far as they took their phenomenal live show to Liverpool’s 11,000 capacity M&S Bank Arena.

Having secured their first ever top 10 album ‘Western Approaches’ last month, the Liverpool sextet performed alongside The K’s, The Cheap Thrills and The Kairos.

Celebrating the release of their recent TOP 10 charting album ‘Mountainhead‘,  Manchester’s own EVERYTHING EVERYTHING recently performed two back to back nights at Manchester’s New Century Hall.

Everything Everything have now wrapped up the UK leg of their tour, however, will be joining The Vaccines down under on a joint headline tour starting next month. Ticket info HERE

The pinnacle of the iconic baggy ‘Madchester’ scene, Manchester’s own Happy Mondays returned to our stages this spring alongside Stereo MC’s and Inspiral Carpets for a nostalgic tour run across the UK. Starting off with the first of three sell out’s at Glasgow’s infamous Barrowland Ballroom, the band moved across the UK’s most vibrant cities including Liverpool, Newcastle, Cardiff and many more. Playing to a sold out home crowd at Manchester’s O2 Victoria Warehouse, we popped along to follow them down a trippy memory lane.

CAITY BASER (support BETH MCCARTHY) | GLASGOW SWG3 03/04 | HOPE SIMMERS

Releasing her debut album ‘Still Learning’ last month, the viral sensation Caity Baser has appeared as anything but a novice with her UK tour by the same name. From playing to 150 people at shows just over a year ago, the young star in the making is now selling out venues across the UK. By the end of this tour, Caity will be able to boast of playing to over 40,000 fans.

The tour will come to a climatic finale this week with a performance of a lifetime at the capitals historic Hammersmith (Eventim) Apollo on April 19th. Remaining tickets can be picked up HERE.

On a recent stop in the UK alongside Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators, the Guns n Roses guitarist and his band took to some of the country’s biggest arenas including Manchester’s AO Arena to remind fans of their iconic legacy.

The River Is Rising world tour follows the 2022 release ‘4’ – the fourth album by the collaborative which was met with global acclaim upon its release.

From his solo endeavors, a Guns ‘n’ Roses revival and even a guest appearance at this year’s Oscar ceremony, it appears there are no signs of slowing down for this guitar superstar, who will release his sixth solo album in May this year – more info HERE

CONFIDENCE MAN DJ SET | MANCHESTER YES 30/03 | BELLA PROUDFOOT

One of the hottest dance acts in the world at the moment – Confidence Man, are the collective duo of Janet Planet and Sugar Bones. Originating from Australia, the DJ act often find themselves at the forefront of live dance music and face a packed summer of festival appearances including Glastonbury and Reading & Leeds in the UK.

Bringing their sensational DJ set to Manchester’s Yes last month, ravers got a taste of what the act can deliver in a full live performance.

Welsh post-hardcore outfit Dream State recently completed a incredible tour run in celebration of their latest release ‘Still Dreaming’. Taking them as northerly as Glasgow, we were fortunate enough to catch them on their most southernly so date in Exeter’s Cavern.
