AV SUNSET’S LATEST SINGLE IS “A BLAST OF HOPE AND TRIUMPH”

If you’re anything like me, the reason you love music often has as much to do with the lyrics as it does the melody. Experimental quartet AV Sunset completely remove wording from their music, heightening the need for invigorating and insightful instrumentals. They meet this elevated desire dynamically with latest single, ‘The Cheerleading Elite‘.
If you’ve ever sought a song that soundtracks a victory, however big or small, this is one for you. As the title, ‘The Cheerleading Elite‘, suggests, there is a cheerleading aspect that champions the aspect of overcoming a hurdle or difficulty. Around halfway, the track changes from having a sense of serenity, and a striking supportiveness to succeed, to a triumphant tempo that has a celebratory feel.
This song is an emotive escapade, and it’s lack of lyrics actually allows your brain to turn off for its nearly six-and-a-half minute duration. The intricate melody is both mesmerising and motivating, muting the world around you for just long enough to accept and enjoy your own successes. No carefully curated words within the track are needed to create an atmospheric anthem of anticipation and acceptance, and a self- described “blast of hope and triumph“.
AV Sunset are formed by Ed Higgs and Tom Pegg who both play synth and guitar, as well as drummer David Lloyd, and Ross Clarke on bass and piano. They recorded this track at The Arch in Southport, with producer Tom Peters [Empire State Bastard], and it was mastered by Stephen Kerrison [LIFE, Bicurious]. There is also a music video for this tune.
