JOE GOODALL’S ‘LOOSE THREAD’ SEEKS TO SEW TOGETHER A WAVERING WORLD OF LOVE

Following in the footsteps of his previous release, ‘You’re On Your Own Kid‘, Joe Goodall adds to his picturesque preaching of lessons learnt, and ones yet to be learnt. ‘Loose Thread‘ speaks of being in some form of relationship with someone, but both appearing to want different levels of the same thing.

The lighter, more effervescent energy, intertwined with Goodall’s quintessential indie-rock identity, masks a more methodical meaning. ‘Loose Thread‘ ties in the tumultuous turmoil of deciphering the details of someone else’s decisions. It almost tries to seek, and sew together, a balance between someone wanting temporary ties, with the other’s mind set on cementing something more serious.

With opening lyrics like, “don’t go taking up my time, if you’ve only got an hour or two” discuss the lasting impact of someone’s presence lingering long after they’ve left. ‘Loose Thread‘, overall depicts a dilemma of two different perceptions of the same situation. The Stirling singer-songwriter’s striking way with conceptualising emotions returns in this track, and it’ll be intriguing to see how Joe evolves something he seems to have already mastered.
