LIVE REVIEW | FINN WOLFHARD w/ The Slaps | KING TUTS WAH WAH HUT, GLASGOW |14th October 2025 by Mairi Lynch

This week, Canadian singer and actor Finn Wolfhard, best known for his role of Mike Wheeler in Stranger Things, arrived in the UK as part of The Objection! Tour. After a short stint across Europe, Finn and his band performed to a sold out Manchester crowd on Sunday before hitting Glasgow’s King Tuts Wah Wah Hut where we caught them on Monday night.

After a brilliant opening act from Chicago based trio, The Slaps, Finn Wolfhard and his band emerged onto the stage to wild cheers from the crowd, opening with ‘Everytown There’s a Darling.’ Finn’s unique vocals and almost country-like tone stood out immediately. He had great stage presence and movement, and it was clear he loved playing with his band.

During the set, Finn spoke about how inspired he was by music from Scotland, saying he wouldn’t be here today playing if it weren’t for that influence. Finn has previously said that bands like Teenage Fanclub are a big inspiration for his music — and that definitely came through tonight, with the same 90s jangly, fuzzy sound and layered guitar tones. It wasn’t long until rumours began circulating amongst the room that Finn himself had actually invited Teenage Fanclub to the show and they were somewhere amongst the crowd.

It was a mixed audience, with the more seasoned gig-goers standing up the stairs whilst younger girls were pressed up towards the front. Some even boasting that they had queued since 8 am, waiting over 13 hours just to get to the barrier for a glimpse of Finn and his band.

Finn performing a smaller, iconic venue like King Tuts definitely made the experience special and unique for everyone there and overall, Finn put on an amazing gig. Blending upbeat grunge tracks such as ‘Eat’ and ‘Crown’ contrasting with softer, slower songs like ‘Happy Birthday’ that he played himself solely on piano with soft background lighting that kept every member of the audience entertained from start to finish.

The Objection! Tour continues this week, with Wolfhard and his band next taking to London’s Electric Ballroom on Thursday 16th October.
