GUNNERSBURY PARK LIVE : EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW BEFORE YOU GO!
This week, Gunnersbury Park Festival will kick off another run of it’s beloved live music concert series. Hosted by Festival Republic, the outdoor event has welcomed the likes of PJ Harvey, Tom Greenan, Boygenius and Chase & Status over the past few years. Known to draw crowds from across the UK to the West London green space, this year will be no exception, offering possibly the best line up yet.
THE LINE-UP
Kicking off on Friday 8th August with London’s own PAWSA, the show will be the biggest yet for the renowned DJ and producer. Set to bring the beats to Gunnersbury Park all day long, PAWSA’s takeover will be a day of dancing to remember.
On Saturday, local legends The Libertines will own the entire line-up, with a specially curated ‘The Libertines Festival‘. The show will be the band’s last hurrah for the foreseeable after announcing they are set to take break. Peter Doherty says:
“We are going to take a break, live life a little for a bit and enjoy some time in the wilderness communing with nature, and see where the muse takes us. Hopefully you can make it to the final night of the tour at Gunnersbury Park. It’s gonna be historic. If not, we’ll see you down the road some time. Love Peter X
After a whirlwind 2 years of touring and achieving their first No.1 in 20 years, Saturday’s show promises to be joyous celebration of that success. Joining the line-up will be Supergrass, Soft Play, Hak Baker, Lambrini Girls and Real Farmer.
On Sunday though, the baton is passed stateside with iconic 90’s rockers Smashing Pumpkins headlining the Gunnersbury stage. Joined by Skunk Anansie, White Lies, Unpeople and Rocket, Sunday’s line-up promises hefty dose of nostalgia whilst opening the door to fresh talent that are sure to impress the Pumpkin crowds.
After a midweek break, the following weekend continues the live music spectacle with Texas psych-rock trio Khruangbin on Friday 15th August, and on Saturday 16th August globally acclaimed DJ and Producer Martin Garrix headlines the final night. Khruangbin will be joined on the day by TV On The Radio, Palace and Noso, whilst Sunday will welcome the likes of Steve Angello, Bunt., Lavern, Megisto and Nova Blue warming up for Martin Garrix.
