South African pop artist Will Linley took the stage at Manchester’s Gorilla as part of his ‘Hopeless Romantic’ UK and EU tour. After nearly 2 years away from the UK, Will has certainly returned with a bang, bringing all his best hits from his career in addition to tracks from his debut album “Don’t Cry Because It’s Over”.
Will had the crowd captivated from the moment he walked out on stage, dancing around and bringing the energy to the near-sold-out room. Kicking off the show with “Cinematic” and “Maybe”, Will soon got everyone dancing along with him, even commenting on how loud the crowd was that night. Between sets, Will continually made jokes with fans that kept the energy high, the best being a specific interaction with crowd member “Amy” while he was discussing the origins of hit single “Gracie”, even changing the lyrics to Amy’s name for the final chorus after jokes of him ‘finding his Gracie’ (soulmate) in Manchester.
Through his continued intermissions, Will was able to singlehandedly navigate the crowd through his journey in music and how every song represents a different side to him. Closing the night with his two top tracks, “Just Because I Called You” and “Last Call”, fans were certainly left on a high from this night of fun and dancing.
