GLASGOW’S NEWEST NOISY NEIGHBOUR ON THE BLOCK

Moving into a tenement near you, Glasgow’s latest DIY initiative to grow grassroots artists into the stars of tommorow is launching very soon.

noisyflatmate is a brand new grassroots music project created by co founders Alice Melbourne and Adam Brown. The aim is to support local artists by easeing the financial burden on bands that often comes with recording and making music promotion and high quality recording more accessible to all.

At the core of it all is a burning passion for live and local music. Every aspect of this project is DIY, they goal is not to profit off of the local scene but to provide an additional resource to help it thrive.

Their mission is simple:

noisyflatmate breaks down barriers that dictate who is seen and heard in the music industry. By making high-quality recording, media, and promotion financially accessible, emerging artists can present their work at its full potential.

We capture artists honestly in real, ’next-door’ spaces, preserving the atmosphere that surrounds each performance. Our fly-on-the-wall approach lets each performance speak for itself. We don’t just create promotional content; we document and celebrate the people, places, and moments shaping the culture around us.

I had the honour of sitting in on one of the recordings back in May of this year and the amount of effort and care put into every session is clear evidence of a deep admiration and love for the scene.

The project is set to launch on the 18th of September. The debut episode will feature music from Inverclyde’s finest, Paparazzi. It will be available to view on YouTube via the noisyflatmate YouTube channel.
