Last night Luvcat (Sophie Morgan) turned Glasgow‘s SWG3 TV Studio into a seductive Gothic cabaret, all in the name of her delectably devious debut album Vicious Delicious. Released on Halloween and hitting the Official UK Album Charts top 40, Vicious Delicious is just as much for the stage (if not more so) as it is for your speakers.

The opening night of the ‘Lipstick & Pearls’ tour, Luvcat‘s live presence is spellbinding, whilst remaining humble, witty and flirtatious throughout. With her jazz infused powerhouse vocals, the Liverpool artist channels the energy of icons such as Amy Winehouse with the cinematic shade of bands such as The Cure or Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds.

Performing the album in its entirety during the set, early highlights included singles ‘Lipstick’ and ‘Matador’ before delivering a mesmerising rendition of My Chemical Romance‘s ‘Helena’. Later standout moments were the haunting ‘He’s My Man’ and the theatrical ‘Bad Books’ and ‘Vicious Delicious’, the latter which saw opening act Attic Girl join Luvcat on stage.

Polished, powerful and vulnerable, Luvcat‘s biggest Glasgow show left the audience entirely charmed.
